your decline letter/s should tell you why
    ex: too many delinquent accounts
too much debt to salary ratio
    too many open accounts

In addition to ‘bad’ reports on your credit, your debt to income ratio is also important. If your regular debts, (rent, utilities, insurance, etc) take up too great of a percentage of your income, you will not be a good candidate for a credit card, even if you consistantly pay your bills on time The card companies figure you do not have enough income left over to adequately pay back any charges you would make on a credit card if they issued you one.

a Lot of times, if you haven’t had much activity on your credit report or if you just in the past few years started getting credit–you have to build up a credit rating….so that could also be a reason why they refused you the credit cards…. ALSO, did you check with all 3 credit bureaus? Experian, TransUnion and Equifax — sometimes these reports are not always the same and sometimes credit reports have MIS-information on them—-for example someone with my name had credit that wasn’t MINE but it was on MY credit report…. Since you got declined for credit, you can send for a detailed report from all THREE of the credit bureaus… (make copies of your declination letter and send it to each company)–the addresses can be found on the internet….just click in those names I gave you and you should get the addresses and websites…

It’s just a matter of time. Try department stores.
You have a right to know exactly why they declined you by writing to them. aLOT of inquiries can take points off your credit report even if you don’t except them.
