credit reports
Cole asked:

I filed bankruptcy, chapter 7, in 2004, but I’ve just noticed that all the major credit reporting agencies are reporting inaccurate information. My case number is inaccurate on all three as well as what type of court my bankruptcy was filed in, and one even has the date wrong. I’ve also read that the credit reporting agencies will never be able to verify this information to fix it because courts will not verify over the phone, and therefore will have to remove it from my credit. Is this true?

No it is not true, the courts will always verify the account on your credit report. It is done in writing not verbal, the whole point is to make sure that it stays on your credit report for the full 10 years. You can dispute the actual case number being wrong, just to get it updated to the correct information.

No, chapter 7 is chapter 7. No matter how you slice it. The banks will see it on your credit report and automatically declare you a high risk which mean you will not get a loan unless you have (below):

    Cash in savings/checking.
    401K
    Property (Home Owner)

You will always have to put down more than everyone else now to get a loan now like 10% for a car and 30% for a house.
