Had all 3 credit reports fixed after identity theft done to me. Does the credit agencies owe me points now?
Filed Under Credit | 4 Comments
Mother stole my identity and i was able to fix the problem. all 7 credit cards that i owed due to the theft was removed.
My question is, can i ask the credit report agencies to increase my credit score because i never opened these credit cards and i have documents to prove it.
i figure since all of them were removed that i could have my points back that i once had. i had about 750 then due to the identity theft i now am left with 450 points.

Are personal income listed on credit reports?
Filed Under Credit | 4 Comments
I am trying to consolidate a high interest equity loan with my mortatge but don’t want the bank to see my income. When they pull my report are they going to see the income? I pulled my report and didn’t see anything. Just wondering if they will see the same thing as me, or they have access to a more comprehensive report that list the income?

I recently got a Household Bank credit card in order to help build up my credit score. I have only used the card for small purchases and have paid off the balances for 2 months (the amount of time I’ve had the card) but no payments have shown up on my credit report as of yet. I was under the impression that Household Bank reported to the credit bureaus every month. Does anyone know when the payments might show up?

Filed Under Credit | 3 Comments
I have a tax lien that originally reported 10/96 and was paid 2/02. How long until it doesn’t show at all on my credit report, as it’s still giving me grief!!!
Also, I have a paid judgement from a car accident. How long until that no longer shows… if at all?

if a collector reports after you’ve already paid your account is he in violation of fair credit reporting act?
Filed Under Credit | 4 Comments
I had a phone bill of $120 reported to collections. When I was advised of my debt, I paid it immediately. (I thought my bill was paid when I disconnected with this company more than 1 year ago). The collections agency then reported this bill as “paid” AFTER I had paid it. This item had not previously exsisted on my report. Is this legal?

Why should credit reports have so much power over people’s lives?
Filed Under Law & Ethics | 6 Comments
If your child has to have an operation and your husband gets laid off and your credit gets ruined because the only option is to file bankruptcy. If your credit is ruined that means you can’t rent or buy a house. Can’t get a job. Pay higher rates for everything from car insurance which is mandatory. Not to mention forget about ever buying car again. So once a person gets their credit ruined how are they supposed to just live their lives?
